Jane McDonald is an English singer and television presenter. Born and raised in Wakefield, Jane spent much of her early career performing in local clubs and pubs before landing work as a singer on cruise ships. Jane became a household name overnight in 1998 starring in the BBC show The Cruise. The same year, she released her self-titled debut album Jane McDonald, which topped the UK Albums Chart and remained there for three weeks.

The singer has released a further 10 albums in addition to performing in live concerts and her own tours at venues across the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall and The London Palladium, as well as at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. In 2015, Jane performed the role of Grizabella in the musical Cats. Her own TV travel show Cruising with Jane McDonald on Channel 5, has spawned eight series, and earned her a BAFTA alongside her own hugely successful shows Jane & Friends, Holidaying with Jane McDonald and Jane McDonald: My Yorkshire. Recently she hosted The British Soap Awards, Christmas Carols on ITV and appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox to huge acclaim. Jane has also presented numerous daytime television shows, including Loose Women (2004-2014) and Star Treatment.
